Nutrition by blood type-ideal diet for your blood type: Myth?

Four blood types are found in the human population A, B, AB and O. It has been discovered that every blood type has food that is compatible with it. If you consume food that is not compatible with your blood type and your stomach enzymes, then the food is not processed properly. This may cause that the vitamins and minerals are not properly absorbed into your blood stream and it can’t nurture your body in the way it supposed to. Your body has a mechanism that responds to the food in exactly the same way as it would respond to a foreign substance. By eating an incompatible food one might experience stomach ache, gas, bloating, vomiting or diarrhea. More problems can occur when antibodies react with unsuitable food gluing themselves to the food in your blood stream. This causes your blood to thick, which then slows the blood flow and your heart must pump the blood much harder. Thick and slow moving blood enables plaque to build up on the arteries wall, leading to high blood pressure, heart disease or other illnesses.

Here are some examples of what food should be consumed or avoided if you are trying to tailor your blood type diet:

Type A: should eat fruits and vegetables (high carbs / low fat),have thicker blood than other blood types, a sensitive immune system, should not consume dairy products, animal fats and meats, high risk for cardiovascular disease, diabetes and cancer.

Type B: should have a balanced diet (fruits and vegetables, grains, fish, dairy, meat, avoid chicken), have the best chance of overcoming everyday types of diseases, including heart disease and cancer.

Type AB: should eat dominantly vegetarian diet, and only on rare occasions some fish, meat (no chicken), and dairy.

Type O: should have a high protein diet (including red meat), low carbs, improved with fruits and vegetables, should limit the intake of wheat germ, whole wheat products, corn, avoid dairy products and most nuts, commonly affected with hypothyroidism, high stomach acid (leading to ulcers), and thinner blood with greater resistance to blood clotting.

In fact, there are no scientific proofs of any of this eating by blood type claims. So next time when you search the net for the true fact make sure they are coming from scientific papers rather than a conspiracy theory websites and blogs.

However we are what we eat and some people really have food allergies or discomfort when eating a certain type of food. And that is going to be my next theme on the blog.
